Oregon! Ready to Learn is an initiative of the Oregon Community Foundation.

Oregon is home to several proven programs that help families and child care providers meet the challenges of the early years. Oregon! Ready to Learn provides opportunities for increased access to these resources. Of particular interest are programs serving children in isolated rural or inner city areas.

Oregon! Ready to Learn specifically targets gaps in language and early literacy to increase kindergarten readiness throughout the state by encouraging projects that:

• Provide opportunities for families and child care providers to learn best practices in brain development and other readiness techniques for infants and toddlers.
• Identify gaps in readiness in the local community and determine the most effective ways to address them.
• Help increase access to exemplary ready to learn programs with elements of early literacy and language development.
