The Partnership recently presented results from the Cohort Study.
This narrative interprets and explains the significance of each map.
There are 36 counties in Oregon and each SCF branch office serves a
slightly different client population. The maps illustrate differences
among client populations served in each county. Counties are divided
into five groups -- counties serving similar client populations are
identified with the same color. The seven counties with the highest
estimates are deep red; the next highest group of branches are colored
purple; yellow reflects counties approximating the state norm or average;
the deep green represent the counties with the lowest estimates in the
state.
The following
factors are associated with risk of severe abuse or risk of removal.
Counties with higher proportions of these factors are depicted in red;
counties in green tend to serve lower proportions of families with these
particular factors.
